Alison is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Palmetto, FL and works with children, adolescents and adults. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Eastern Michigan University and a Master’s from Argosy University in Sarasota. Alison has lived in Florida since 2001 and started her career in mental health that same year. She received her Masters’ in 2006 while working full time at a community mental health center. Alison has experience working with a wide variety of issues in mental health and substance abuse and prefers to use an eclectic approach, tailored to each client, to match individual needs and goals. She has learned various tools and techniques (CBT, Solution-Focused, Trauma-Focused & more) to help clients heal and cope more effectively with life challenges. She is also a Qualified Supervisor to Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns. Alison enjoys playing with her 2 young kids, writing & doodling, and reading in all sorts of genres. When it’s not too terribly hot out she enjoys jogging a bit, too. Her office is located at the Regatta Pointe Marina, and has a great view looking out over the boat slips and the Manatee River.
